A 19-year-old boy is facing charges after he allegedly pointed a pellet gun at two children, ages 10 and 11 on Sunday.

Police were called to the 4700 block of Dewdney Avenue after the parents of the two children reported that a man dressed in black had pointed a gun at them from the opposite side of the street.

Police searched the area, and found a man matching that description riding a bicycle. When they approached him, they say he fled.

Officers caught up with him in the 1500 block of Horace Avenue, and found a pellet gun in his backpack.

Branson Elijah Mercredi, 19, has been charged with a number of firearms related offenses.
