Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop turned up a stolen vehicle, and a quantity of drugs.

Police pulled over a vehicle on Sunday morning around 10:50 a.m. on the 600 block of McTavish Street because the plate was expired. They quickly realized that it had recently been reported stolen, and arrested the two occupants.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded CO2 pellet handgun, and eight grams of crystal meth.

Jason Lee Sparvier, 33, has been charged with possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and breach of undertaking.

Mercedes Ashton Andrea Kitz, 25, is facing charges of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused appeared in provincial court on Tuesday.
