Saskatchewan Government Insurance says police handed out 2,368 tickets during a province-wide traffic enforcement blitz targeting aggressive drivers.

More than 2,300 tickets were issued for aggressive driving or speeding in October, with 93 of those offences occurring in school zones.

Officers also wrote 43 tickets for exceeding the speed limit by more than 35 kilometres an hour, six for stunting and one for passing a police vehicle.

Police also issued 369 tickets for distracted driving, including 361 for cellphone use behind the wheel, and 331 fines for seatbelt infractions. In addition, there were 107 impaired driving-related offences during the month.
