Police have charged several people after a SWAT call on Saturday morning.

Around 5:07 a.m. on Saturday, police received a 911 call from a man who said he’d been robbed and beaten up on the 700 block of Rae Street.

Police were able to track a suspect to a house on the same block, and established a perimeter around the scene.

A witness told police that the suspect had a gun, so the SWAT team was called in.

The SWAT team was able to get four people out of the house and in custody, but four people stayed inside.

After several hours of negotiation, police used tear gas and several other people were arrested around 12:30 p.m.

Police searched the house and found a pellet gun.

Tyrone Joseph Akapew, 29, of Regina and Morris Poitras, 25, of Fort Qu’Appelle have been charged with breaking and entering and committing robbery.

Four other people were also arrested and charged with unrelated offences.
