Friends and family of a 16-year-old homicide victim in Regina say he was a “bright” and “vibrant” teenager.

Dozens of people took part in a walk in memory of Darian Moise in the city’s North Central neighbourhood Friday.

The victim’s uncle, Shawn Moise, described him as “very friendly, lovable and respectful to his family.”

“Darian was a 16-year-old kid who had goals to finish school and was a great boy,” he said.

“Darian did not deserve this.”

Another relative of the victim, John Still, said Darian was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

On Friday evening, police charged Lawrence Alvin “Junior” Strongquill, 21, of no fixed address with second degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

This is Regina’s seventh homicide of the year.
