A B.C. man is been is facing drug related charges after a traffic stop near Percival netted 40 pounds of marijuana.

Police pulled a vehicle over around noon on Monday after the driver allegedly didn’t slow to 60 kilometres an hour while passing an emergency vehicle with its lights on.

Officers seized 40 pounds of marijuana after searching the vehicle.

David Wayne Maxim, 51, of British Columbia has been charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He appeared in court on Tuesday morning, and was remanded for a second court appearance on Oct. 14.
