A precautionary drinking water advisory has been issued for Fort Qu’Appelle.

There has been an overfeed of potassium permanganate in the town’s drinking water system, according to an advisory issued Friday by SaskAlert.

The chemical compound may be an irritant for some people with sensitivities to potassium, but the provincial agency says water quality is not affected.

Those with sensitivities to potassium are advised to find an alternate water source until the system can be flushed.
