The Saskatchewan government is reconsidering its stance on underage tanning.

“The minister is considering changes there," Premier Brad Wall said Wednesday.

"There’s a couple of different roads to take. Manitoba has gone with parental consent, that’s what the minister was looking at."

Last March, the health minister denied pleas from the Canadian Cancer Society to ban people under the age of 18 from using tanning beds.

Now, Alberta has introduced a new law banning minors from using tanning beds, and if it’s approved, Saskatchewan would be the last province without any legislation on the issue.

According to an Ipsos Reid poll from last January, 83 per cent of people in Saskatchewan would support a government ban on youth tanning.
