RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for a wanted man who was spotted in Yorkton.

Mounties say 28-year-old William Charles Crawford fled from police Thursday morning. RCMP followed the vehicle he was driving, but stopped following him northwest of the city for safety reasons.

Crawford is wanted in Prince Albert on charges of dangerous driving, flight from police and failing to comply with an undertaking. He also faces drug- and weapon-related charges in Yorkton.

Crawford is described as about six feet tall and 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen driving a red Chevrolet Equinox with Saskatchewan licence plate 561 JVZ. Police believe the vehicle may still be in or around the Yorkton area.

The public is advised not to approach the vehicle or Crawford because he may have weapons. It’s believed Crawford is the only person in the vehicle, but that hasn’t been confirmed.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or Crawford, or has information on his whereabouts, is asked to call 911, their nearest RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
