Saskatchewan residents can now get a bit more change in their pockets for recycling.

The refund for recycling aluminum cans and plastic containers has jumped five cents. It's is the first change to refunds since 1992, and the provincial government says it will divert more waste from landfills.

SARCAN is also now accepting milk cartons and jugs, as well as coffee creamer and drinkable yogurt containers.

Saskatchewan Environment Minister Scott Moe was on hand at a Regina SARCAN location Wednesday morning to announce the changes, which were an outcome of the provincial budget.
