Regina Chamber of Commerce wants city to curtail spending plans

The Regina Chamber of Commerce is asking the city to sharpen its pencil on spending plans.

City officials want to boost spending by 8.6 per cent in the 2013 budget.

However, the chamber of commerce says that's way beyond the inflation rate.

The chamber says it recognizes the need for more spending as Regina grows, but it is urging city hall to approve a more moderate increase in the five to six per cent range.
