A Regina man is in custody after evading police in Moose Jaw on Saturday night.

Police say they conducted a vehicle stop in the 0 block of Ominica Street East around 11:15 p.m. When officers approached the vehicle, the vehicle drove away eastbound on Oxford Street East. The driver ran a stop sign at First Avenue Northeast and hit another vehicle driving southbound. Officers were able to arrest the driver as he tried to leave the vehicle, police said in a news release.

The Regina man has been charged with flight from police and possession of marijuana and morphine. He was also arrested on numerous warrants from Regina police. He has been remanded into custody.

No one was injured in the collision. Police estimate the damage is around $10,000.
