A 32-year-old Regina man is facing charges after an incident involving a machete Thursday night.

Just before 7 p.m., police responded to a report that a man was waving a machete at another person inside a house, located in the 700 block of Garnet Street.

The suspect had left by the time police arrived, but officers were able to get a name and description of the man.

Patrol officers did a check of the area and found a man matching the description of the suspect in the 1000 block of Montague Street. The man was carrying a machete, which he dropped when officers challenged him, police said.

The man was arrested without incident, and police say they found a folding knife in his pocket.

Roy Steven Fiddler faces charges including carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He made his first court appearance Friday morning.
