A Regina man is facing charges of possessing and distributing child pornography.

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit says it began investigating in February after receiving a complaint of a Regina resident distributing child pornography through e-mail and a social media application.

On June 21, police executed a search warrant at a home in Regina, where digital devices were seized. Charges were laid following forensic examination of the devices and a suspect was arrested Wednesday.

Jason Michael Brown, 40, of Regina is charged with possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography.

Brown has been released from custody on numerous conditions and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 24.
