A Regina man is facing more than 40 charges – including sexual assault, robbery, assault with a weapon and various firearm-related offences – after a weekend crime spree.

Police responded to a report of a man with a gun who was chasing a woman down the street in the 1400 block of Robinson Street on Saturday.

The complaint also indicated that a man had been shot in the neck. However, police say when they found the victim, they discovered he had been struck on the back of his head. He was taken to hospital by EMS.

The suspect went into a house on the block that was not his home. The suspect surrendered after officers challenged him to exit the house. A search of the home turned up clothing the suspect is believed to have worn, as well as a modified gun, police said.

As police were investigating the numerous complaints stemming from the incidents, they obtained evidence that the suspect had tried to rob a man and a woman. It also alleged the suspect pointed a gun at an 11-year-old child.

Investigators also found evidence that a 36-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted in a parking lot located in the 2900 block of Dewdney Avenue.

Kashtin Wade Hunter, 19, of Regina faces 41 charges, including sexual assault, robbery with a prohibited firearm, assault with a weapon, break and enter, and numerous firearm-related offences. Hunter made his first court appearance Monday morning.
