A Regina police constable faces assault and other charges following an alleged off-duty incident.

Officers were called to a report of a domestic assault at a home in the 3200 block of Victoria Avenue early Sunday morning.

Police say the alleged victim, a 34-year-old woman, wasn’t physically harmed. Officers arrested a 36-year-old man, who police say is known to the woman.

It’s alleged the suspect made threats against police while he was being taken into custody.

Darcy Allan Dreaver of Pilot Butte has been charged with assault, mischief under $5,000 and three counts of uttering threats. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Dec. 27.

The seven-year member of the Regina Police Service has been placed on paid administrative leave and will face a disciplinary hearing.
