The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region is projecting a year-end deficit of $13.9 million.
Health region CEO Keith Dewar says the upcoming fiscal year will be a challenging one.
The health region says there will be no layoffs but overtime, sick days and orientations will be cut back.
The finalized budget must be submitted to the health ministry by June 5.
About 10,000 staff and more than 600 physicians currently work in the health region.
