The City of Regina says building permits for single-family homes outpaced 2014 figures for the first time this year in August.

The city says 51 permits were issued last month, compared to 48 in August 2014.

Residential development permits brought in almost $30 million dollars last month, bringing the year-to-date total to just under $143 million.

The city says the new numbers show continued growth, and exceed last year's number by $75 million.
