Statistics Canada says Saskatchewan saw the biggest drop in employment in the country after the province’s economy shed 3,600 jobs in September.

However, Saskatchewan’s 4.7 per cent unemployment rate was still one of the lowest among the provinces.

Regina’s unemployment rate was also 4.7 per cent last month, while the jobless rate in Saskatoon was 5.8 per cent.

Despite adding 52,000 jobs, Canada’s unemployment rate edged up to 7.4 per cent.
