A 31-year-old Saskatchewan man has been charged with murder in the death of his fiancée, whose body was found in Raymore earlier this month.

Kenneth Bruce Worme made his first court appearance on a charge second-degree murder Thursday in Regina provincial court. The case was adjourned until April 8 in Punnichy.

Worme is accused of killing 27-year-old Shauna Maureen Welch of Moose Jaw. The two were engaged to be married, according to Welch’s Facebook account.

Welch was found dead in a home in the 1000 block of Fourth Avenue in Raymore on March 10 after RCMP were called to a report of an unresponsive person.

In February 2008, Worme pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm for brutally attacking a 23-month-old boy while he was babysitting his then girlfriend's three children.
