Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says there's no way his party could have known one of its MLAs was using drugs while in office.

The conflict of interest commissioner reviewed the case of Serge LeClerc after the CBC was given a recording in which a person said to be LeClerc talked about recent drug use.

The commissioner says an RCMP audio expert determined the recording was not doctored, as LeClerc had claimed.

Wall says the findings are serious. LeClerc, who has never been charged, is battling cancer in an Ontario hospital.
