Saskatchewan had the second-highest percentage increase in alcohol sales among the provinces last year.

Statistics Canada says sales of alcoholic beverages rose 3.3 per cent to $614 million in the province between the 2013 and 2014 fiscal years.

Saskatchewan was second only to Alberta, which saw beer and liquor sales increase 4.4 per cent to $2.4 billion.

Saskatchewan recorded the biggest increase in sales of ciders, coolers and other alcoholic refreshments at 22.5 per cent.

Wine sales in Saskatchewan grew 6.4 per cent, while sales of beer and spirits rose 1.4 per cent and 1.7 per cent respectively.
