Statistics Canada says Saskatchewan saw the biggest increase in employment insurance claims in the country in October.
Claims climbed nearly seven per cent in the province compared to the previous month.
However, 40 fewer people were receiving regular EI benefits in Saskatchewan.
Nationally, the number of regular EI beneficiaries edged up about one per cent to 535,000.
