A Saskatchewan woman is facing charges after RCMP seized cattle that were stolen six years ago.

RCMP launched an investigation earlier this month after receiving a complaint from Livestock Services of Saskatchewan Corp.

It was reported that branded cattle had been stolen and were grazing amongst a herd in the Rural Municipality of Glenside.

A search warrant was obtained and Mounties seized five cow-calf pairs worth an estimated $13,000 to $15,000.

The animals are said to be in very good condition and are currently being monitored by Livestock Services.

Mounties say the value of the offspring produced from the stolen cattle over that six-year period is pegged at more than $17,000.

Joann Vayro of Sonningdale, Sask. has been charged with five counts of fraudulently keeping cattle found astray.

Vayro, 49, is scheduled to make her first court appearance Nov. 5 in Biggar.
