Statistics Canada says Saskatchewan added 4,000 jobs in August, partly offsetting a decline in the previous month.
The unemployment rate in Saskatchewan fell 0.5 percentage points to 4.7 per cent – the lowest among all provinces.
More than half of the 4,000 jobs created in Saskatchewan last month were part-time positions.
Canada’s unemployment rate edged up to seven per cent as more people searched for work.
