Calling Saskatchewan’s HealthLine is now easier on dialing fingers after the province shortened the number to three digits from 11.

People can now access professional health advice any time by dialing 811 from anywhere in the province.

The government says the change brings Saskatchewan in line with other jurisdictions.

The old 11-digit HealthLine number (1-877-800-0002) will continue to work for a minimum of two years.

Operated by the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region, HealthLine answers an average of 5,800 calls a month.
