The provincial government is cancelling a controversial grant to an online food delivery company.

In April, the province gave SkipTheDishes a $3-million grant through the work readiness program. The money was to be used to create 300 new jobs for the company in Saskatchewan.

But now, the government says the company has not met its obligations under the contract.

The $3 million was to have been paid over a two-year period. The first payment was not cashed by the company and the cheque has been cancelled.

SkipTheDishes has not yet responded to a CTV News request for comment.
