Health officials say overcrowding has eased somewhat at Regina General Hospital, but one elective surgery and five procedures scheduled for Monday have been cancelled.

The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region says no endoscopy cancellations are planned after about a dozen were cancelled Thursday and Friday, along with some elective surgeries.

The health region says it hopes to resume offering full services later next week.

As of 1 p.m. Friday, the Regina General Hospital was at 114 per cent capacity, while the Pasqua Hospital was at 104 per cent capacity.

Patients will be notified by phone if their surgery or procedure has been cancelled. Anyone with questions is being asked to contact their doctor’s office.
