Saskatchewan’s minimum-wage workers will soon get a 22-cent-an-hour raise.
The province’s minimum wage will increase to $10.72 an hour from $10.50 on Oct. 1.
There are about 23,200 minimum-wage earners in Saskatchewan's workforce. More than half are under the age of 25, and most work in the accommodations, food services or retail industries.
The minimum wage in Saskatchewan is reviewed annually using an indexation formula, which is based on the change in the consumer price index and the average hourly wage for the previous year.
