Three people suffered only minor injuries after a collision between a semi and an SUV near Indian Head, Sask. on Wednesday night.

Police and emergency crews responded to the crash at the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 56 around 7:40 p.m.

RCMP say the westbound semi went into the ditch and rolled onto its roof after colliding with the southbound SUV.

The two people in the SUV – the male driver and a female passenger, both from Montmartre, Sask. – and the male driver of the semi were all taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic was closed near the scene while Mounties investigated. Highway 1 has since reopened, but one lane was restricted for several hours Thursday morning while crews worked to remove the semi from the ditch.
