The SIAST building in Regina is closed for a third day after an electrical incident injured a worker and caused a power outage.

Classes were being held at the SIAST Wascana Parkway Centre on Thursday.

The institution says a decision hasn’t been made about when the main building will reopen.

The Ministry of Central Services, which is responsible for the building, and its contractors are continuing to assess the electrical situation and source parts.

A 29-year-old man was working to upgrade the electrical system when the incident occurred Monday night. He was taken to hospital and is expected to recover.

An electrical arc is suspected, but the exact cause hasn’t been determined.
