SIAST is sporting a new name.

The Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology is now known as Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

The change comes after the provincial government expanded degree-granting authority in Saskatchewan in 2012, paving the way for the college to develop degree programs of an applied nature.

The new name was unveiled during launch events Wednesday at the college’s four campuses in Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
