Three people were taken to hospital after a six-vehicle pileup in northwest Regina.
Police were dispatched to the collision at the intersection of Pasqua Street and Ninth Avenue North late Monday afternoon.
When officers arrived, they found an unconscious man trapped inside an SUV.
The man was freed from the vehicle and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The drivers of two other vehicles were also taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Police say it appears five of the vehicles were stopped at a red light in a southbound lane of Pasqua Street when the SUV slammed into the rear vehicle. The impact triggered a chain of collisions.
So far, no charges have been laid in the ongoing investigation.
