Winds gusting up to 100 kilometres per hour are hitting southern Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada has placed much of the southern portion of the province, including Regina, under a wind warning.

A fast-moving cold front and low pressure system is sweeping across the region, bringing winds of 60 km/h and gusts of 100 km/h.

The strongest gust reported so far was measured in Leader, Sask. at 109 km/h.

Environment Canada expects the winds to remain strong into Saturday evening before diminishing later in the night.
