While distracted drivers were the focus of last month’s provincewide traffic enforcement blitz, it was speeders who got the most attention from police.

Saskatchewan Government Insurance says police issued 3,719 tickets for speeding, down from 4,028 in July.

Officers also handed out more than 300 tickets for distracted driving, including 228 for using a cellphone behind the wheel and 91 for driving without due care and attention.

There were also 206 seatbelt violations and 93 tickets for impaired driving during the month.
