Construction on the new Mosaic Stadium is 54 per cent complete, and the public is being invited to take a sneak peek of the facility.

The concrete superstructure of the stadium’s east side is nearly complete, and the 55 steel trusses for the spectator roof are currently being installed.

“Each day we see a tangible change in the construction of our multi-purpose community facility,” Regina Mayor Michael Fougere said in a news release Wednesday.

“The development of the spectator roof structure and the exterior façade on the east side enables the community to see what our new stadium will look like when it is near substantial completion in just another year.”

Fougere says the new stadium is on time and on budget. About 430 workers are involved in the project.

On Saturday, the city and stadium builder PCL Construction Management will provide a sneak peek of the facility to the public. People will have an opportunity to access the main concourse of the stadium to take a photo of the construction from noon to 3 p.m.

A behind-the-scenes video tour of the construction site will also be shown in Confederation Park at Evraz Place.

The $278-million stadium is slated to open by the start of the 2017 CFL season.
