Police say charges are pending against two men after a staff member at a Regina high school was hit with bear spray.

Officers were called to Scott Collegiate during the lunch hour after two men entered the school.

The men went to the office and asked to see a specific staff member, then left and walked through the school.

One of the men made derogatory statements to one of two staff members they came up to in the hall, and that's when the bear spray was discharged.

Police say the men fled and were arrested after a short chase.

One of the men had bear spray and a knife.
