The price of a ride on a Saskatchewan Transportation Company bus is going up this summer.

Effective Aug. 1, fares will increase by an average of 5.5 per cent.

The Crown transportation company says the average increase per ticket will be one dollar and 90 cents, based on a one-way trip of 182 kilometres.

The last hike occurred in October 2013 when the fare went up 4.7 per cent.
