A 20-year-old man is facing numerous charges after a stolen car headed the wrong way on a Saskatchewan highway crashed into an SUV, sending six people to hospital.

RCMP were called to the two-vehicle collision on Highway 2, just south of Moose Jaw, Saturday afternoon. A stolen car with four occupants that was driving the wrong direction crashed into a southbound SUV carrying two people.

One of the car’s passengers was flown to hospital in Regina via STARS air ambulance. He was still receiving treatment late Saturday night for non-life-threatening injuries.

The remaining five people were taken to Moose Jaw Union Hospital and had all been released by late Saturday.

The alleged driver of the stolen car was treated in hospital before he was taken into police custody. An RCMP media release did not clarify what charges he is facing.
