The trial for a man accused of murdering an 81-year-old man in Regina more than three years ago could be delayed.

Dale Stonechild is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Victor McNab, whose body was found inside a home in North Central Regina in January 2013.

The trial is scheduled to begin in May, but on Thursday, Sontechild’s attorney had to withdraw after learning that one of the potential witnesses is another one of her clients. Stonechild will now have to hire a new lawyer.

Both sides will meet later this month to decide if the trial can proceed, or if it will have to be delayed.
