Regina police are investigating after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the city’s Glencairn neighbourhood over the weekend.

The assault occurred outside a home on Cambridge Avenue around 2:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the victim was returning home when she was grabbed from behind, forced to the ground and sexually assaulted.

The attacker fled on foot after the girl began fighting and screaming.

The suspect is described as an Aboriginal male, around 25 to 30 years old and five-foot-six to five-foot-eight. He was wearing a brown sweater with the hood up and grey sweatpants with rips.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Regina police or Crime Stoppers.
