An SUV towing a camper trailer burst into flames after a crash just north of Regina on Friday morning.

Police and emergency crews were called to the crash on Highway 6, about 20 kilometres north of the city, around 11:15 a.m.

RCMP say a southbound car with two occupants crossed the centre line into the path of the northbound SUV. The SUV veered out of the way and into the ditch, where it rolled over along with the trailer.

The man driving the SUV, two women and two female children from Mortlach, Sask. all got out of the vehicle before it caught fire.

Both the SUV and trailer were destroyed by the fire, but no one was hurt.

The driver of the car, a 16-year-old Regina boy, was issued a ticket for driving as a learner while not accompanied by a qualified driver.
