Pension negotiations between the City of Regina and the employees’ group will continue into November, according to the city manager.

On Thursday, Glen Davies said both sides were interested in a joint solution to the challenges facing the pension plan, and that talks have been productive.

Last year, the two groups signed a letter of intent outlining various plan changes.

The proposal was insufficient according to Saskatchewan’s superintendent of pensions, who wanted more work done on governance, contribution rates and intergenerational equity.

The superintendent has set a Nov. 30 deadline for submissions about the plan's future.
