Testimony got underway Tuesday in the murder trial for two men charged in a stabbing outside a bar in north Regina more than four years ago.

Albert Lowenberger died after he was stabbed in the heart outside the King’s Head Tavern in February 2008.

Ronald Zerr and Ashton Lavallee are both facing second-degree murder charges in the 26-year-old’s death.

On Tuesday, court heard testimony from several police officers who were involved in the homicide investigation. The jury was also shown photos taken at the crime scene.

Lowenberger’s twin brother is expected to take the stand Wednesday.
