The push is on for photo radar near Moose Jaw.
Saskatchewan's City Mayors Caucus is asking the province to approve the use of photo radar on the Trans-Canada Highway within Moose Jaw city limits.
Speeding motorists would be targeted at three major intersections along Highway #1 including the Highway #2 overpass, 9th Avenue near Thatcher Drive, and at the intersection of 9th Avenue Northwest.
Glen Hagel, the mayor of Moose Jaw, says since 2000, there have been 72 collisions on that stretch of highway.
"We’re asking that the Province of Saskatchewan consider what several other provinces have already done; make photo radar enforcement legal, but does a pilot project here.”
.Hagel will meet with the provincial minister responsible for the legislation at the end of the month.
