Saturday proved to be a tragic day on Saskatchewan highways.

A woman and two children are dead following a two-vehicle crash near Fort Qu'Appelle.

A 44-year-old woman, a 10-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy were pronounced dead on scene. RCMP confirm that all three were passengers in a car that collided with another vehicle around 11:00 a.m. on Highway 10.

The driver of the vehicle was injured in the crash and received medical treatment. A passenger in the second vehicle was also injured and received medical treatment. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.

The highway was closed for nearly twelve hours as crews cleaned up the scene and investigated.

Several people were injured in a separate collision on Highway 10 that happened at noon Saturday just kilometres from the fatal crash.

RCMP are investigating both collisions.
