Environment Canada comfirms a tornado touched down in southwest Saskatchewan on Thursday evening.

It happened near the communities of Dollard and Shaunavon, but the twister touched down in a relatively open area.

No injuries have been reported but the accompanying storm has flooded streets and knocked trees onto parked cars.

Volunteer firefighter Joel Sopp says emergency workers and townspeople are busy trying to clear the debris.

Environment Canada says a thunderstorm warning was in effect for that corner of the province.
