A tornado warning is in effect for southeastern Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada issued the warning shortly before 6:30 p.m. Friday, saying meteorologists are tracking a storm possibly producing a tornado.

“This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation,” the warning said. “Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.”

Environment Canada says Doppler radar shows a potential tornado near Carnduff.

The severe thunderstorm is moving east at about 40 kilometres per hour, the weather agency says.
