Sheldon-Williams Collegiate in Regina was locked down Friday after a man and a five-year-old boy were spotted outside the high school with toy guns.

Police were called to the high school around 1 p.m. after someone reported that the man and the boy were pointing what were believed to be toy guns at each other and passing vehicles.

The high school was locked down as a precaution and transit service to a bus stop in the area was temporarily suspended.

Investigators later learned the man allegedly threatened a staff member at the high school who had approached the two.

Police were not about to locate the man and the child, who were last seen walking westbound on Regina Avenue.

The man was described as five-foot-seven to five-foot-ten, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and a black vest. The boy was dressed in dark clothing.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Regina police.
