The trial for three men accused of killing Shawn Douglas has entered the fifth week.

Joshua Wilson, Johnathon Peepeetch, and Dennis Thompson are accused in Douglas’ death in 2014.

On Monday morning, the lawyer for Wilson spent the morning cross examining 18-year-old Aiden Anaquod.

Anaquod testified last week about witnessing the murder of Shawn Douglas, but said that he did not play a role himself.

Anaquod reiterated on Monday morning that he did not know Douglas was going to be killed until it happened.

But Wilson's lawyer questioned Anaquod's credibility, pointing out numerous discrepancies between his various statements to police, and getting Anaquod to admit to helping put Douglas in the trunk of a car earlier in the night.

Thompson's lawyer focused on the lack of detail Anaquod provided the court on her client’s alleged role in the crime. She noted that in his first two interviews with police, Anaquod never mentioned Thompson.

Later when he did say Thompson was there, he told police Thompson had a knife. Now, on the stand, Anaquod is claiming Thompson had a hammer. Thompson's lawyer accused Anaquod of making things up to fit the Crown's case, something Anaquod denied.

Peepeetch's lawyer focused on Anaquod's membership in a local street gang. She said her client is not a gang member, and accused Anaquod of trying to blame the fatal blow on Peepeetch to protect his friends.

Anaquod told the jury that the street gang often referred to the house on Toronto Street as a “trap house.” However, he said his fellow gang members never explained why it was called that.
